When I first did my student magazine I referred to the symbols and themes that I wanted to convey to my audience.
With a music magazine my ideologies are likely to be a lot less sophisticated and more philosophical in order to establish the emotion and passion that comes with songs. Country music especially will need connotations that evoke admiration and compassion from the target demographic.
To encourage this, I will use a combination of lighting, camera angle, facial expressions and body language in order to create visual satisfaction.
Country music is based around contentment. The lyrics often suggest that enjoyment is found in abstract concepts like love and belonging. In contrast to this, some country music can adopt a more gravelly vocal tone in order to describe things like decay, death and fate. This all depends on the artist and in some cases, their personal experiences.
I think that themes like destiny are certainly more philosophical and offer insight into past, present and future. Resultantly I find the theme of fate an interesting ideology.
